Hello,
My name is Josef Lantz and I am the founder of Shedsmith. I decided to start Shedsmith after my own frustration trying to buy a shed for my backyard. I went to the large home centers but couldn't believe the prices they wanted for such low quality sheds. I also found it impossible to find someone who knew what they were talking about to help me.
I went home frustrated and decided to design and build my own shed to save some money. I was so happy with the finished product that I decided to go into business building them.
I was a man with a simple mission, and that was to build sheds better, faster and more affordable than anything on the market. If you are looking for a new shed I hope you will compare our sheds against the competition. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at our quality.

Step 1. View our Prices and optional add-ons on the pricing page.
Our Pricing page will show you our wide variety of shed sizes as well as options you you may want to including like windows, ramps, storage shelve, wall height options, old shed removal, and shingle colors. All shed sizes and options have prices posed allowing you to shop with clarity and build a shed that fits your budget and dreams. (Our photo page is a great places to get some inspiration!)

Step 3. Book your shed online.
When you are ready to get your shed go to our book your shed page on the website. This will show you a real time calendar of our available build dates. Select a date that works best for you and fill out the booking form. This form will ask you for things like shed size and options you would like to add to your shed so our team knows what to bring to build your dream shed. You do not have to enter a credit card to book your shed, this just gets you on our schedule.
Step 4. Pre-build Call
the week before your build we will reach out for a 15 minute call to go over your booking and confirm things like shed size, options and locations of things like doors and windows. This is where we make sure we understand what you are looking for so we can build you exactly what you want. at the end off the call we will send over a copy of the contract we have filled out based on our conversation. This included a diagram of your shed showing where windows and doors will be located and a total price. There is no additional or hidden fees for delivery to installation of the shed.
Step 5. Build time!
We will show up on the date you booked to start building your shed(weather allowing...this is Minnesota). Shed builds typically take 2 days. We hand build your shed right in your yard from leveling the treated 2x6 floor system on solid blocks to framing the walls to shingling the roof. This is a great benefit if you have limited access and cannot get a large shed deliver. As long as there is a gate big enough to walk through we can hand carry all the materials to the location we are building your shed.
